Mr. Penix leads our strategic planning, management and execution. He brings over 20 years of senior management experience and international business consulting to ZOMM, with a focus on developing strategic sales and marketing strength, increasing operating efficiency and increasing revenues and profitability. As a world-renowned speaker and author, Mr. Penix also brings a diverse worldwide following to ZOMM that supports the strategic goals of the organization. Through his ability to engage others in our mission to “Enhance Live Through Technology” Mr. Penix has quickly led ZOMM into a global enterprise, attracting and securing a world-class team. Previously, Mr. Penix served as Chief Executive Officer of Learning Centers of America, where he led the company to explosive growth and ultimately a very successful sale.
Mrs. Penix is responsible for increasing customer and market awareness. She brings a wealth of knowledge of marketing and innovation assessment experience to ZOMM. By uncovering an obvious problem that all mobile phone users have— losing one’s phone—Mrs. Penix provided a unique solution and appropriately named the device after the first letters in her children’s names. Mrs. Penix’s compelling story of the creation of ZOMM exemplifies her strategic business aptitude. Today, Mrs. Penix shares her story, now known as “Laurie’s Story”, worldwide through marketing initiatives and public speaking engagements. Prior to ZOMM, Laurie founded Learning Centers of America, DBA, Koala Care, the regional leader in early childhood care and education. Mrs. Penix was recently a finalist for Inspire’s Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Mr. Gooden oversees both the financial and operational functions of ZOMM. For the past decade, he has held senior executive positions in both start-up and public enterprise environments, and now brings his knowledge and experience to ZOMM. Through Mr. Gooden’s strategic organizational and financial structuring, he has helped substantiate the positioning of ZOMM in the technology marketplace and positioned ZOMM as a leading employer. Previously, Mr. Gooden co-founded Motricity (Nasdaq: MOTR), and was instrumental in growing the business from a start-up to an industry leader with more than $100 million in revenue. He also led the process for multiple M&A transactions and played a key role in raising over $400 million in VC funding and the company’s IPO in 2010. Prior to Motricity, Nathan served as a lead auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Boston market.
Mr. Hauser oversees our technology and product strategy ensuring ZOMM stays at the forefront of technological innovation. Mr. Hauser devotes himself to ensuring the quality of ZOMM products are unsurpassed by any competitor on the market, with the goal of making ZOMM a reliable, household name. He also maintains protocol for securing intellectual property. As an expert in his field, Mr. Hauser is a widely recognized authority on Bluetooth® technology. Under Peter’s leadership, teams of engineers, designers and contract manufacturers from Hong Kong, China, London and Seattle were able to bring ZOMM to market in record time. Peter is now setting the pace that will place ZOMM as a world leader in “enhancing lives through technology”. Prior to ZOMM, he spent seven years with Microsoft, before working with The Bluetooth SIG, Inc., an organization that regulates Bluetooth activity around the globe. His name is on multiple patents of components of Microsoft’s primary inventions (including the wireless mouse and wireless keyboard).
