ZOMM 2011 Video Recap

It’s hard to believe the end of 2011 is here! In only a few days it will be 2012. We’ve done a lot over the past year, including the release of ZOMM Pink and the Safe Driving Kit at CES last year and the launch of both our Android and iPhone apps.

We also released several new videos in 2011 and wanted to take this opportunity to take a look back at the year in video form:

I get an email from my wife and she says there's a competition at the consumer electronics show in Las Vegas.

We submitted the materials and actually won.

This gave our product instant credibility and really validates who we are as a company.

The people behind the ZOMM took their idea for locating a lost cell phone and turned it into a CES success story, like no other.

Up to five hundred to start. The pink is sold out.

Also if a...

Can I have one of these?

...Yeah, sure, you can have whatever you want.

And it's...

Starts to vibrate.

Oh look, it's vibrating and blinking.

And then an alarm.

Ever had a great day ruined because you have left your phone at a restaurant, movie theater or even your home? ZOMM sounds an alarm if you accidentally leave your phone behind, reminding you to go back and get it. Have you ever been in a situation or where you were in trouble and needed a call for help immediately?

With ZOMM, send a panic alarm and auto-dial 911 with just one press of a button.

911, what's your emergency?

Have you ever needed to answer an important call safely but couldn't? With ZOMM, answer calls with one touch touch of a button and talk hands-free anytime, anywhere.

Hello!

Hey Dad, can you come pick me up?

Yes, I'll be right there.

Thanks, Dad.

OK, bye bye.

So with ZOMM, never forget or leave your phone behind. Answer call safe and hands-free anytime anywhere. Sound a panic alarm or autodial 911 with just one press of a button. Three great features, one smart device. You owe it to yourself, your friends and your family to go to ZOMM.com and get yours today.

We’ve had a great year and are looking forward to another great one in 2012!

Frequently Asked Questions about ZOMM: The Answers

We get a lot of feedback from our customers, and we make sure to listen! Lately we’ve noticed a few questions rising to the top and being asked more frequently than others. Today we’re looking at two of these questions:

1. How do I increase my battery life?

Simple, download the newest firmware. When ZOMM was introduced, the battery life for standard use was about 3-5 days. However, with our latest firmware upgrade, we’ve nearly doubled that and ow get 6-7 days on one full charge. Make sure you have the latest firmware upgrade by checking your myZOMM profile.

2. How to I increase the speakerphone volume?

Again, the answer is simple. Don’t start looking all over your ZOMM for controls, though. Instead, you’ll use the controls on your phone to increase the speakerphone volume on the ZOMM.

Here’s how: Next time you take a call via your ZOMM, use the volume buttons on your phone to turn up the volume. Doing this while using ZOMM will increase the speakerphone volume-and stay that way. No need to do this during each call, the settings will save.

The Perfect Gift for Dad This Father’s Day

“My father didn’t tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.” — Clarence Budington Kelland

Do you have one of those dads who will do anything for you, without asking for anything more than a “thank you” in return? If so, now’s the time to show him how much you appreciate him—That’s right, this Sunday, June 19, is Father’s Day!

We think ZOMM makes a great gift for Dad…but you don’t have to take our word for it.

ZOMM in FORBES

Jim Gorzelany included ZOMM in his “Great Car-Themed Gifts for Dads” post for Forbes. So if your dad sounds something like this:

Auto aficionados tend to be a breed apart from mere motorists. While it’s cliché to infer they have motor oil coursing through their veins, their interest in all things vehicular run much deeper than the mere act of getting from one location to another,”

Then ZOMM makes a great gift!

Luxe List ZOMM

The Luxe List’s Merilee Kern boasts ZOMM as a gift to “help him keep better track of it [his phone] — and the related stress at bay”. Her guide was also featured on Associated Content.

ZOMM Fox news

And Fox News contributor John R. Quain listed ZOMM as a great tech gift for Dad (or grads) because, who hasn’t forgotten their cell phone?

What are you getting your Dad for Father’s Day?

Cell phone panic: This alerts you if you’ve left yours behind

If you leave your cellphone behind, this device will alert you.

By Judi Dash special to the Times

Bzzz, flash, screech — that’s your cellphone being left behind.

Well, actually, that’s the new Zomm Wireless Leash ($99.99), a little round keychain-sized device that, when activated, uses Bluetooth technology to detect and sound an alert if you and your Bluetooth-enabled cellphone become separated by 20 to 40 feet.

A built-in panic button lets you initiate a piercing alarm and auto-dials 911.

Stay Safe on Spring Break with ZOMM

spring-break-green-beach-sunglasses-photo

In between road tripping, flight scheduling and hotel booking, Spring Break safety can easily get lost in the excitement. Here at ZOMM we want your Spring Break to be filled with great memories–but we also want you to be safe! These quick tips to can help you stay protected (and your parents a bit less worried) during your days off:

  • Know where you are. Figure out basic information before you travel, so you can relax while on vacation. Make sure you know the address of your hotel and leave that information with family or friends back home. Program your hotel’s phone number, a reliable cab service and the local emergency number into your phone as well. That way, in case something unfortunate should happen, you’ll be prepared.
  • Keep your cell phone with you at all times. Remember when your parents bought you your first cell phone to use only in the case of an emergency? Well the same still applies. Keep your phone charged and with you at all times, in case you need to contact someone. It also never hurts to have an extra layer of protection with our Wireless Leash.
  • Have a plan. Make a simple schedule every morning and exchange it with your friends. That way, if you don’t show up for dinner, they will know to contact you.
  • Use the Buddy System. You learned it in Kindergarten, and it still applies today. If you are on Spring Break with a group of friends, you don’t have to stay with the group the entire time. However, you should always be with at least one other person – never travel alone.
  • Drink water. Staying hydrated keeps you energized and focused—two important necessities for staying safe (and making good decisions).
  • Use a personal safety device. While we truly hope it isn’t needed during your Spring Break, the personal safety aspect of ZOMM includes a panic alarm and emergency call feature, so you can scare off perpetrators and call 911 with the touch of a button.

Just remember: whether you’re lying on the beach, skiing the slopes or staying local, it’s always important to think of safety first. From the ZOMM team, have a fun (and safe!) Spring Break!

Have any additional spring break safety tips? We’d love to hear how you plan to stay safe on Spring Break!

Does My Phone work with ZOMM?

A common question we get is, “Is ZOMM compatible with my phone?” It’s an alarmingly smart (nudge nudge) question for people to ask and can be easily answered with another question—“Does your phone have Bluetooth?”

Does ZOMM work with Bluetooth?

That’s right; you don’t have to own a smartphone in order to utilize ZOMM! When we made ZOMM we knew that there were a lot of people out there without smartphones—and those people hate losing their phones as much as anyone else.

Because of that, we created ZOMM with Bluetooth. Since there are few phones produced today without Bluetooth functionality, it is very likely that your phone will work with ZOMM. Basically, if your phone is Bluetooth compatible, then it is also ZOMM compatible.

To show you just how many phones are available with Bluetooth, we suggest you check out this A-Z Bluetooth directory on About.com. From the Audiovox 8290T to the VK 530 (and many, many in between), this is an extensive list of Bluetooth-ready phones. Yours is probably on it!

If you’re still unsure if your phone is with the Bluetooth game or not, you can check the user manual or scroll through the options on your phone. Typically Bluetooth is located under “settings” or “tools.”

And, of course, if you have any questions about ZOMM, don’t hesitate to contact us! You can even start a live chat with a customer service representative.
