Headz Up App – Stay Safe while Plugged in!

Here at ZOMM, we know how crucial of a role mobile phones play in our lives today. That’s why we created the Wireless Leash—so you won’t ever have to worry about living without your phone. Similarly, the creators of Headz Up App know that you need to stay plugged in no matter what. They’re just making it safer to be!

Ok, so this is really a Saturday Night Live clip, but like writer Alexia Tsotsis at TechCrunch, we hate to admit that this actually sounds a little bit like a good idea…

ZOMM 2011 Video Recap

It’s hard to believe the end of 2011 is here! In only a few days it will be 2012. We’ve done a lot over the past year, including the release of ZOMM Pink and the Safe Driving Kit at CES last year and the launch of both our Android and iPhone apps.

We also released several new videos in 2011 and wanted to take this opportunity to take a look back at the year in video form:

I get an email from my wife and she says there's a competition at the consumer electronics show in Las Vegas.

We submitted the materials and actually won.

This gave our product instant credibility and really validates who we are as a company.

The people behind the ZOMM took their idea for locating a lost cell phone and turned it into a CES success story, like no other.

Up to five hundred to start. The pink is sold out.

Also if a...

Can I have one of these?

...Yeah, sure, you can have whatever you want.

And it's...

Starts to vibrate.

Oh look, it's vibrating and blinking.

And then an alarm.

Ever had a great day ruined because you have left your phone at a restaurant, movie theater or even your home? ZOMM sounds an alarm if you accidentally leave your phone behind, reminding you to go back and get it. Have you ever been in a situation or where you were in trouble and needed a call for help immediately?

With ZOMM, send a panic alarm and auto-dial 911 with just one press of a button.

911, what's your emergency?

Have you ever needed to answer an important call safely but couldn't? With ZOMM, answer calls with one touch touch of a button and talk hands-free anytime, anywhere.

Hello!

Hey Dad, can you come pick me up?

Yes, I'll be right there.

Thanks, Dad.

OK, bye bye.

So with ZOMM, never forget or leave your phone behind. Answer call safe and hands-free anytime anywhere. Sound a panic alarm or autodial 911 with just one press of a button. Three great features, one smart device. You owe it to yourself, your friends and your family to go to ZOMM.com and get yours today.

We’ve had a great year and are looking forward to another great one in 2012!

ZOMM Wireless Leash Journey – A Whirlwind of Excitement

The journey of the ZOMM Wireless Leash has been an exciting one. Last year was a whirlwind as we took our product from concept to market in under a year. Now, we’re excited to share that journey with you. This video takes a look inside the exciting ride ZOMM has been on over the past few years:

I get an email from my wife and she says there's a competition at the consumer electronics show in Las Vegas.

We submitted the materials and actually won.

This gave our product instant credibility and really validates who we are as a company.

The people behind the ZOMM took their idea for locating a lost cell phone and turned it into a CES success story, like no other.

Just Say No to Driving Distractions

Two years ago, Oprah started her campaign to make all cars “No Phone Zones.” Since then, 420,686 people have pledged to do their part to end distracted driving. Are you one of them? You probably should be. As we mentioned last week, a recent study found that 28% of people admit to texting while driving (we guess there are more that didn’t confess to it during the survey).

Even though we all know the dangers of texting while driving, we still have a hard time saying no. What will it take to make us put down the phones and give our attention back to the roads?

Our children. Whether we like it or not, they’re watching us…and mimicking us.

We send our teens out with rules about no phones while driving, but we’re not always practicing what we preach. A few families learned the reality during MSNBC’s “Perils of Parenting” series. Check out the video below to see how our actions are affecting our teen drivers, and even our toddlers.

What steps are you taking to reduce distracted driving?

See CES 2011 for Yourself: Video Interviews with the ZOMM Team!

As we might have mentioned before, we spent the first week of January at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show. During our time in Vegas, we did numerous interviews and demos for members of the press, bloggers and consumers.

For those of you who weren’t at CES, take a look at these video interviews Zac (The Z in ZOMM) and Ashley did. Not only do they give you a great overview of ZOMM, but they offer a glimpse into the world of CES:

Zac’s interview with SkyNews:

Ashley talks with SmarBits TV:

Did you notice that Ashley was demoing a Pink ZOMM? It’s our first color variant! A portion of all sales of ZOMM Pink will be donated to breast cancer research.

Conference Calls Anytime, Anywhere with ZOMM

ZOMM‘s speakerphone, with noise-canceling microphone, is great for on-the-go calls, especially while driving. However, did you know that ZOMM is also a great option for conference calls? CEO Henry Penix and the rest of the ZOMM team demonstrate a simple conference call via ZOMM in this video:

Alright, so I want to thank everyone for joining us this morning in our meeting. I wanted to, to just drive home a couple of points.

I think we should maybe give Peter a call and let me get him on the line real quick. I'll go ahead and use my ZOMM.

OK, Peter, are you there?

Hi there, Henry. How are you doing?

Hey, great. How are you?

I'm doing great, thank you.

Good, hey I wanted to talk a little bit about the noise canceling microphone feature on the ZOMM.
Could you fill us in just a little bit more about that?

Sure, I'd love to.

Cali Lewis Loves ZOMM!

Cali Lewis of GeekBeat.TV absolutely loves her ZOMM. Check out this segment where she demos the Wireless Leash function and talks about the other features of ZOMM: call notification, speakerphone and personal safety.

What’s your favorite function of the ZOMM Wireless Leash? Leave a comment below and let us know!

Hey am Cali Lewis. This is the ZOMM. It's a wireless leash. Now what exactly is a wireless leash?

Well imagine that this thing has an invisible string leading from it to your phone. The ZOMM attaches to your key chain so you'll always have it with you.

When your key chain gets too far from your phone, 30 feet to be exact, it will start vibrating,
then it will start beeping at you saying,"no, no, no, don't leave yet." So you can run back to wherever you left your phone before someone steals it.

My problem tends to be that I leave my phone in the house and start driving away. ZOMM has come to my rescue many times. The ZOMM also serves as a speakerphone and a safety device.
