Go Techy (and even a little Geeky) With Your Holiday Décor

When you decorate for your holiday celebrations, you likely incorporate things that are meaningful to you. Perhaps that’s a piano-playing Santa that has been passed down generation to generation, a handmade ornament your son or daughter made in pre-school or the Christmas star you picked out with your spouse for your first holiday together.

However, do your holiday decorations include meaningful technologies? Think about it—technology is a part of our everyday lives, so why not let it be a part of the holidays, too? Here are a few ways to incorporate tech into your holiday décor:

Blackberry Ornament

It’s attached to your hand 24/7, so why not attach it to your Christmas tree, too?

Computer Parts Wreath

Pay homage to one of your best friends, the computer, with a wreath of disk drives, CPUs and floppy discs.

  3. Submit the comment
That’s it! Here’s the ZOMM Lib – get started now:

Dear Santa,

As a self-proclaimed “person who is scared of losing his cell phone” I’m hoping for a very special gift this year. My friend “video spokesperson told me about a small device that can prevent me from ever losing my phone again—ZOMM. Have you heard of it? The creator of ZOMM, “ZOMM Mom’s real name,” is brilliant! She saw a common problem and created a simple-to use solution.

Santa, I will be happy with any of the color options ZOMM offers – “three color options.” Since ZOMM works with any “technology that powers ZOMM”-enabled phone, it doesn’t matter what kind of phone you put in my stocking, but ZOMM does have apps for “one OS that supports myZOMM” and “another OS that supports myZOMM,” so one of those would be best.

Thanks Santa!

Your Name

We’re taking entries until December 20, so complete your ZOMM Lib and share it with your friends! Any questions about how to enter? Tweet us @theZOMM or leave a comment below!

iPhone Apps: Before, During and After Thanksgiving

Tis the week to give thanks! Are you gathering with family and friends on Thursday to give thanks for all the blessings in your life?

If you’re the host of one of these gatherings, it can be a little stressful. However, today’s technology provides tons of tools out there to help you throw the best Thanksgiving party on the block.

We’ve compiled four apps to help you throw a stellar Thanksgiving gathering:

Getting the Groceries:

  • Grocery iQ With this app you can build shopping lists simply by scanning barcodes! You can also sync with other’s lists—so if people at home think of something to add while you’re out, they can add it to your list.

Preparing the Meal:

  • iFeast: Thanksgiving Cooking a Thanksgiving meal, but not sure you can keep everything straight? This app will help you make sure everything is ready at the same time.

Setting the Mood:

  • FirePlace Use this app to bring the peace and ambiance of a fireplace to any room in the house. Unfortunately you’ll have to imagine the heat part.

After Dinner Entertainment:

  • Fox Sports Mobile Football is an essential part of this fall holiday. However, sometimes you’re not able to watch the game on TV. If that’s the case, grab Fox Sports Mobile to follow Thursday’s games: Lions vs Cowboys and 49ers vs Ravens.

What are you Thanksgiving plans?

Leprechauns and Lucky Charms – ZOMM Celebrates St. Patrick’s Day

Each year on March 17, people across the world get to feel the luck o’ the Irish. That means in just a few days (2 to be exact) it will be St. Patrick’s Day!

St. Patrick's Day Banner

If you’ve been to our website lately, you might have noticed that we’re already in the spirit of the season. However, we’re not going to stop there!

As we all know, there are several icons associated with St. Patrick’s Day, from the color green to leprechauns and pots-o-gold. Did you know these icons are also associated with mobile phones? It’s true! Read on to find out more…

Since we were kids in school, we’ve known to wear green on St. Patrick’s Day or be faced with pinches all day long. So as you douse yourself head-to-toe in emerald, lime and jade, why not let your phone in on the fun, too? Apparently the people over at the eat love pray blog feel the same way, as they compiled a list of St. Patrick’s Day-themed cases for both iPhone 3G and 4G phones:

Pots of Gold
Rainbows, of course, lead to pots-of-gold, right? Well, if you’ve had trouble locating your pot of gold, you might consider this instead: a gold-plated iPhone 4. Hop on over to and for a mere $3,109.61, you can own your very own gold-plated smartphone.

Leprechauns and Lucky Charms
The mascot of St. Patrick’s Day, the Leprechaun is known for trickery, deceit and general tomfoolery. Due to their knack for practical jokes, we’re guessing Leprechauns would have a heyday with cell phones. Stealing and hiding phone from their owners could keep the little swindlers busy for days. Our advice? Get yourself a lucky charm—better yet, how about a lucky charm that sounds an alarm?

How do you plan to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? However you choose to celebrate, please do so responsibly—and then leave your stories in the comment section below!

Are you sure you have your mobile phone with you each morning as you’re rushing out the door to go to work? Attach ZOMM, LLC’s alarm to your key ring and, assuming you haven’t also forgotten your keys, the device—four centimeters in diameter—will start to flash and vibrate when it gets more than nine meters from your phone. (The two communicate wirelessly via Bluetooth.) Because of this Bluetooth connection, the ZOMM device can also act as a speakerphone with built-in noise cancellation, enabling you to answer your phone even when it’s out of reach. A panic button feature lets you sound a 40-decibel alarm and call for local emergency assistance.

ZOMM Introduces New Features for the Holidays

Updated Firmware and New Activation Software Provides Customized Options and Better Speaker Quality for ZOMM -The World’s First Wireless Leash for Mobile Phones

TULSA, Okla. (Nov. 1, 2010) – ZOMM, LLC, an emerging technology company, introduces new features and upgrades for its ZOMM Wireless Leash™, providing customizable options for an enhanced user experience. The new firmware also provides a 30 percent improvement in volume and voice clarity of the ZOMM speaker and microphone.

Using Bluetooth® technology, the keychain-sized ZOMM prevents users from losing or misplacing their mobile phone by vibrating, flashing lights and sounding an alarm when they separate from their phone. With added features of call notification, a fully functional speakerphone with a noise-canceling microphone for safe hands-free communication while driving and a personal safety device for emergencies, ZOMM is the ultimate multi-functional accessory for any Bluetooth-enabled phone.

The new firmware release, available for free download at, includes features driven by editorial reviews and customer feedback. The distance for the alarm to sound when separated from a mobile phone was previously set to a distance of 30 – 70 feet on the device; however, the upgrade allows the user to choose their distance to be either short or long. The new features and upgrades also include the ability to mute the ringer and other sounds, adjust the ZOMM volume from the user’s phone, customize the emergency number ZOMM dials and name the ZOMM.

“We listened to our customers and added features to ZOMM that have received the most attention,” said Henry Penix, CEO of ZOMM, LLC. “Purchasing individual products to match each of the key features the ZOMM Wireless Leash provides would cost more than $200 plus monthly fees; however, ZOMM wraps everything into one sleek device for under $100 with no monthly fees and makes it the must-have gift this holiday season for anyone who owns a mobile phone.”

The ZOMM Wireless Leash is available in both black and white color options at a MSRP of $99.99. Customers who have already purchased a previous generation of ZOMM may go online and upgrade their devices for free. For more information or to purchase a ZOMM Wireless Leash, please visit us online at
