One Crazy Year with ZOMM!

I am sitting in my office at the ZOMM Corporate Headquarters thinking how crazy the whole ZOMM experience has been. Can you believe it’s only been a year since I came up with the idea of ZOMM? In just one year, ZOMM has become a reality and made its way all over the world.  I’ve seen ZOMM covered in outlets ranging from CNN to the Wall Street Journal.  We’ve generated more than 200 million media impressions in only 9 months!

It’s both amazing and humbling to see people’s lives being changed by ZOMM.  It was especially exciting to see Best Buy select ZOMM for their safe driving campaign and even featured it in their weekend circular.  If any of you get a chance to see ZOMM on the store shelf at Best Buy, please take a picture of yourself with the display and send it to me. I’d love to add it to my scrapbook! (Yes, I scrapbook, but that’s a whole other blog in itself!)

I was picking my new iPhone the other day at Best Buy and started talking about My ZOMM with the Best Buy employee. The customer standing next to me heard our conversation and was intrigued by all of Zomm’s unique features. She then asked do they sell Zomm here at Best Buy? Before the Best Buy employee could answer, I replied saying They sure do! Then I took her over to the shelf and put one in her hand. She said I definitely need one of these for me and my daughter. She smiled and said “this is such a cool device and thanks for telling me about it.” I Thought Laurie and the Zomm team would like this story!

Sorry but i really do not understand what this seemingly cool device does. Does it replace your cell phone if in the event you leave your cell phone at home or in a pocket? Can you make phone calls with this device? Can you please explain this further.

    Thanks alot.

Great question – we love to hear from people that are interested in our product. ZOMM is a wireless leash for your phone. So it doesn’t replace your cell phone if you lose it, but prevents you from losing it. By connecting via Bluetooth, if you get further than 30 feet away from your phone, ZOMM will vibrate, flash and sound an alarm to remind you to go back and get your phone. It’s also a speakerphone that can be used for hands-free calling. Finally, it also has a panic alarm and emergency assistance dialing feature. You can check out our website, http://ZOMM.com or watch some videos on our YouTube channel: http://yoututbe.com/user/theZOMMvideo to learn even more.

      Thanks again for your interest!

Yes, it also operates as a speakerphone, but you cannot make a phone call with it. When you receive a call on your cell phone your ZOMM will also alert you of the call. If you can not get to your cell phone quickly, or don’t want to use your cell phone (because you are driving) then press and release the Z-button once and the call will transfer to your ZOMM. You can then manage the call using the speakerphone with noise-cancelling microphone. If you do not want to take the call, press and release the Z-button twice and the call will transfer to your voicemail. Incidentally, some phones will allow you to adjust the volume of the speakerphone the same way you adjust the volume on the phone.

I understand it may also help locate keys (if you walk away with your phone in hand). How long will it beep and how loudly?
